Deep Dish Pizza made in a casserole dish. Try mixing it up with your favorite toppings.
Pizza Dough, enough for one pizza – see my pizza dough recipe here1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 lb Ground Beef
4 oz Mushrooms, sliced (canned or fresh)
1/2 Cup Pizza Sauce
1/2 Green Bell Pepper, diced
1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a 9 inch by 13 inch casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Press dough on bottom of casserole dish and halfway up the sides of the pan.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, cooking until browned. When the beef is almost done, add the mushrooms. Drain on paper towels.
Spread sauce onto pizza dough. Top with beef and mushrooms, bell pepper and cheese. Bake until golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
Yield: 9 inch x 13 inch deep dish pizza/about 6 servings
Here is my favorite Pizza Sauce recipe that is perfect for homemade pizzas.
1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4 Cloves Garlic, finely grated
15 oz Can Tomato Sauce
6 oz Can Tomato Paste
1/4 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper
1 teas[ppm Italian Seasoning
1 teaspoon Dried Basil
Freshly Ground Black Pepper, about 1/8 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon Kosher Salt
1 Tablespoon Dried Onion Flakes
1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
Heat olive oil over medium/high heat in a medium saucepan. Add garlic, cooking for about 1 minute.
Add tomato sauce and paste. Turn heat to low when adding tomatoes to avoid splashing. Turn heat to medium.
Add all seasonings. Bring to a bubble, reduce to low and simmer for at least 5 minutes. Adjust seasonings to taste.
This pizza sauce freezes well.
Yield: about 1 1/2 Cups
This Taco Braid is similar to a Calzone or Stromboli, except that the dough is braided together instead of folded or rolled up. It is filled with a mixture of ground beef, beans and cheese. You may notice that my picture doesn’t have any cheese in it. No excuses, I completely forgot to add cheese until we were eating it. It was delicious even without the cheese.
1 lb Ground Beef
1 Tablespoon Taco Seasoning
1 Onion, diced
1 (10 oz) Can Rotel
15 oz Can Black Beans, drained/rinsed
2 Cups Shredded Cheese
1 Pizza Dough, allow to rise
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium high heat, about 5 minutes. Season with taco seasoning. Add onion, cooking until softened, about 2–3 minutes. Stir in Rotel and black beans.
Working on a baking sheet covered in foil or parchment paper, form pizza dough into a large rectangle that nearly covers the pan. Spread mixture along the center of the rectangle, lengthwise. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
Using kitchen scissors, make cuts 1 inch apart along both sides of the dough on the long sides. Fold the strips over the filling, alternating sides to braid it together.
Bake until golden brown, about 30-40 minutes.

I’ve seen this Pull Apart Bundt Pizza idea several times and it was something that I just had to try. Homemade pizza is a favorite in my house, so I whipped up a batch of pizza dough and got to work. This would be great for a party since it makes quite a bit. It would be fun to mix in different toppings into the Pull Apart Bundt Pizza as well. Maybe one half would be pepperoni and the other half would be Hawaiian. So, have fun with your Pull Apart Bundt Pizza! Food is supposed to be fun and exciting!
2 Cloves Garlic, finely grated
1/4 Cup Butter
Pizza Dough, 2 pizzas worth of dough
1 Package Pepperonis
2 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
2 Cups Marinara Sauce, for dipping
Melt the butter in a small pot over medium heat. Add the garlic, cooking until browned. Remove from heat. Brush some of the garlic butter in the bundt pan.
Take a golf ball sized piece of dough and flatten it out. Place a pepperoni and some cheese in the center. Fold the edges up to form a ball, with the pepperoni and cheese on the inside. Place the stuffed dough ball in the bundt pan and brush with a little garlic butter. Repeat until all the dough has been used.
Let the dough balls rise in the bundt pan for about 30 minutes before baking. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Bake until the top is golden brown, about 30-35 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes before turning out onto a plate. Warm the marinara sauce for dipping.
Yield: 1 Pull Apart Bundt Pizza
2-3 Tablespoons Canola Oil
16oz Refried Beans
1 Small Onion, diced
1 teaspoon Paprika
1 teaspoon Taco Seasoning
1/4 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
1/2 Cup Salsa
1 Bunch Green Onions, thinly sliced
1 Jalapeno, seeds removed and diced
1 Tomato, chopped
1 Cup Colby Jack Cheese, shredded
Sour Cream, for serving
Hot Sauce, for serving
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Brush tortillas lightly with canola oil. Place the tortillas on baking sheets in the oven until crispy, about 10 minutes. Turn tortillas over once during baking.
Combine the refried beans, onion, paprika, taco seasoning, and pepper together in a small pot. Heat over medium heat until warm.
Remove the tortillas from the oven. Divide the refried bean mixture among 4 of the tortillas and top each with 1 Tablespoon of salsa. Place another tortilla on top of each and spread another Tablespoon of salsa on top. Sprinkle on the green onions, jalapeno, tomato and cheese.
Place back in oven and bake until the cheese is slightly browned, about 10 minutes.
Serve with sour cream and hot sauce on top.
Yield: 4 Pizzas

I was at the grocery store late Sunday afternoon and was trying to figure out something to make for dinner that was quick and easy. French bread pizza came to mind since I had a coupon for bread, so it ended up being FREE! I had sauce (so I thought) in the freezer and I had cheese, so all I had to get was pepperoni. The bread was multigrain and it added a great flavor to this meal. If you don’t have pizza sauce on hand, just mix together an 8 oz can of tomato sauce with a 6 oz can of tomato paste and add salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, basil, garlic powder and some dried onion.
1 loaf french bread
about ¼-½ cup pizza sauce
Any other toppings you like
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with foil.
Cut the french bread in half lengthwise and cut the two in half if they are too long for your baking sheet.
Spread some pizza sauce on the bread, top with cheese and toppings. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly.
