I love popcorn! This is how we make our own microwave popcorn. I don’t like to buy the bags of microwavable popcorn because the fake butter is horrible to clean out of the microwave.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup popcorn kernels
2 Tbsp margarine
salt
You will also need:
1 paper lunch sack
1 staple
2 paper towels
Add the popcorn kernels, margarine and salt to the paper lunch sack. Fold over and staple closed. Stack the paper towels and place them in the microwave and put the paper sack on top of them. Cook for 1 minute 45 seconds or until popping slows down, which ever comes first. Tear bag open and pour into a bowl to serve.
Note: We use mini staples to reduce the amount of metal in the microwave. And yes, you are putting metal in the microwave. We have never had any problems with it, but we do stand by to be safe.
